It’s been a few weeks already but I still wanted to show you something from my sweet winter-get-away Curacao. I visited Curacao with my boyfriend and we really had an amazing holiday. The weather was GREAT (and it was january, rain season in Curacao but didn’t see more then two 10 minute rainstorms) the food was even GREATER and the people (especially my sweet friend Anneloek) were the BEST! The benifit of my trip to Curacao was most definitely my sweet friend Anneloek who lives in Curacao for over 5 years now, I know her ever since I was a little girl (age 14) and she was kind of my big sister who showed me everything teenagers need to do: dance in the middle of the night, drink a little and laugh a lot. Anneloek is a real Island expert and took us to the best places of the island. I wouldn’t know how I would know where to go if I didn’t have Anneloek there. A local knows best right?!
Well I want you to have the best experience too if you travel to Curacao so I would love to show you my 5 hotspots in Curacao in food, dancing and drinking!
- My 5 Curacao Hotspots:
Chill Curacao – This lovely beachbar is the perfect place for afternoon drinks with the most amazing snackplatter i’ve ever tasted, fresh from the bbq! I’ve spend several hours at this super nice bar and we watched the sundown it was really magical!
Rock Beach – This is the best place to dance on the entire island, the combination of the BBQ, the earthy industrial look and feel and the live music with a real ‘curaçao’ feeling. Caribian. It’s really great especially on friday nights, have a cocktail and a Amstel Bright and dance the night away!
Zest – My favorite breakfast restaurant of all because they have some great yoghurts, pancakes and my favorite cinnamon french toast. You can also have very nice diner and lunch but well the breakfast was really my favorite. The Zest beach relax beds are also very very nice and worth spending your day at Jan Thiel beach!
Zest BBQ – Well I must confess I’m not a big eater, i’m not a fish eater but I really love BBQ’s and grill food. Zest BBQ has a great card with all kind of small and bigger bites where you can have your own BBQ tapas menu, a burger combined with a pincho and a steak combined with some fresh salads, corn and fries pretty perfect if you ask me!
St Tropez Beach Club – Okay maybe I expected more from this place because it really really looks idyllic on every picture you look up of this beach club. The panoramic view is amazing don’t get me wrong but the place is a bit old and needs to have a little bit of fresh paint and fresh new chairs but the view was realllllllly amazing and the lunch was magnificent! We ate a club sandwicht and pesto bread with beef it was really really tasty. So I think if you visit Curacao you must definitely visit this place.
